Paris, Texas - Branding
Why has the City of Paris developed a new brand?
In a collaborative effort between the Economic Development Corporation, the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce, and the Visitors and Convention Council, the City of Paris has developed and adopted a new unified approach to sharing our DNA.
As we look toward the growth and prosperity of our community, our brand was developed to equip all four entities and our citizens as we communicate and grow through municipal activities, event recruitment, culture, assets, and amenities.
Paris, Texas, is the gateway from Texas to the upper 48 states with a rich history, strong community, and compelling future. Like the people that call Paris home, our City continues to dig deeper and reach higher in all that we do.
The City of Paris is our home, and this is our unique story.

The visuals and process
While each organization has its own roles and responsibilities, their broader goals align in promoting Paris and Lamar County as great places to live, work, play, and do business. Branding presents an opportunity to create a unified image—a common brand helps show that our community is working together towards these goals. In October 2021, the process of aligning the four separate entities began.
Paris, Texas – Where Texans Reach Higher.
Our brand process began with examining the previous branding used in Paris through resident surveys, focus groups, one-on-one interviews, and feedback from our own community. This part of the process revealed valuable information and key insights to move forward in the strategic development of a refreshed brand. We gradually pieced together a design that captures the unique ideas and imagery representing Paris as a community.
Over the course of the project, the Branding Advisory Committee worked to develop a new Branding Identity for all four entities. The process included the following steps:
Step 1: Stakeholder, Resident, & Community Education
Step 2: Insight Gathering & Research
Step 3: DNA & Strategy Formation
Step 4: Creative Brand & Message Development
Step 5: Brand in Action
that matches our future.
We’re proud to be Texans.
Our primary colors emphasize the true colors of Texas with variations of blue and red. We’ve taken a vibrant approach that coincides with our future.
In addition, we’ve added greens and yellows as a secondary color palette that ties in our deep roots in business, industry, agriculture, and family.
in action.
How and where the brand will be used.
The brand is a tool to help us reach our preferred future.
As we compete for our share in the growth that Texas is experiencing, we will use our refreshed story and narrative to communicate to those around us that we are united and reaching higher as a community.
Each entity will use the branding for promotional, educational, and informational purposes. Updating our brand will take place over time.
City services, for example, will be more visible and recognizable due to the brand’s application on vehicles, apparel, and other city infrastructure as needed. The PEDC, Visit Paris, and Chamber’s brochures, social media, and marketing materials will use the new design to stand out amongst other competing cities to show what makes Paris special compared to other cities in the region.
This part of the process will occur as existing materials, signage, and equipment need replacing.
The Paris Economic Development Corporation will present a united image along with the other entities. The PEDC brand features an accentuated “A” to symbolize growth and forward movement in our business community.

You will start seeing the brand digitally through each entity’s social media and website. You will also see new print materials, signage, and apparel. Over time, the previous branding will be phased out, and the new brand will replace what you currently see today.
Yes! There are ways you can use the brand.
For example, if you display that your business is “Proudly Located In Paris” or that your product is “Made in Paris, Texas,” you will have access to approved media assets at no cost. Contact our Brand Manager for more information.
While the City of Paris, EDC, Chamber, and Visit Paris all operate independently, they also serve a unified vision and purpose. A cohesive brand between these entities exemplifies to others that we reach higher together.
Yes, we do! Our history proves it.
We have several organized groups that are helping to promote the brand and bring people along in the journey. Whether it be an organization, a business or one of our brand ambassadors, we see this as a community effort and look forward to partnering with those who want to get involved. Contact our Brand Manager for more information.

This is a common question. The process of implementing the new brand will happen over time.
As existing signage, vehicles, print materials, and other items that contain the brand need to be replaced, we will utilize the new strategic messaging and branding to do so. This will happen over time where we are already promoting our city and our community.
No. While the new brand may be used in a variety of areas to advertise Paris as a great place to live and do business, this effort is not an ad campaign.
This initiative is about projecting cohesiveness and continuity signals to everyone that our community groups reach higher together.
